This has become a favorite go to in my home throughout the years and I hope you enjoy it as much as my family does!!! You only need a few ingredients and you are on your way to a very filling healthy meal. It’s savory, sweet, and the tofu has a texture that is almost meaty. This serving feeds two, so double up if needed!
INGREDIENTS
1 block of medium firm or firm tofu
1 zucchini (cut thin and then cut in 1/4 pieces)
1 green onion (sliced)
2 tsp toasted seseme seeds
2-3 cloves garlic (crushed and minced)
1-2 tbsp brown sugar
1 small thumb of ginger (diced)
2-3 tbsp soy sauce (I use gluten free)
1 tbsp seseme oil
1 tsp mirin
1 tsp rice vinegar
1/3 cup water
Coconut oil or any hot temp Frying oil
(If thick sauce is desired, 1 tsp cornstarch to 1/3 cup cold water, whisk, put in at end of cooking, will thicken quickly, so keep an eye on it)

DIRECTIONS
Heat a few tbsp of oil in pan until water drop sizzles in oil
Pat cut tofu dry with paper towel so it can fry evenly and quicker
Place tofu in oil and fry on both sides until golden brown (remove and place on plate with paper towel so soak any additional oil up, set aside)

Mince the garlic and ginger, and cut up the zucchini, place in a big enough pan to steam all the ingredients together except the green onions and seseme seeds (for garnish) add tofu, steam until zucchini is tender.

If adding corn starch, add right before you pull off the stove so it does not over thicken, stir until mixed well and gravy forms.
Serve with steamed white rice, top with green onion and seseme seeds, and enjoy!
